Just out of curiosity (and for food for thought for my fan fic), what's the political hierachy in Twokinds? (As in: Emperor, King, Marquess, Lord, etc.) Or do the Templars run the whole show, so to speak?

For the humans, people are ruled over by a King, and follows in that type of heirarchy. But the king is more of a political figure, a puppet for the Templar. They, in fact, hold all the power, but the people remain resonablely unaware of this fact. The only thing the people know is that if you tick off a Templar, you end up dead, and the government doesn't do anything about it.
As for the other races, that is still to come in the story. Hope this helps. ^^

Thanks! That helps out quite a bit, but just to refresh my memory from history class, a Lord is one lower than a King on the hierarchy totem pole, am I correct?

There are so many position in a Feudal society it's crazy.
-King -Queen -Prince & Princess -Duke -(a bunch in between) -Lord / Baron -Knight
These are the only ones I can ever remember, but I'm not sure about the placement of knight.

There are so many position in a Feudal society it's crazy. That's nothing compared to any modern government. Now the Romans, they had a really minimalist bureaucracy.
