i actually do have a question
i was trying to explain to one of my friends about the races in the comic
and when i got to the keidrans, i had trouble trying to understand how they can be both cat-like and dog-like
it is just kinda confusing to him(and me now too)
is it that just some look more like cats and others like dogs with no basis on parantage
or if there is basis of what they parents were like, how does that work
yes i know this is a trivail question
but it is something that i find interesting
also
is that change that they do where they become more animal like, some form of battle mode or something like that?
edit: since no one has really posted or looked at this yet
why is this called "the new twokinds"
is there another earlier twokinds that i have missed somewhere, you and others have mentioned stuff about a prolouge(sp) and such

Those are some interesting question. I've been asked this one time before, near the starting of my comic. Let's see now... The Keidran race is made up of "animal-like" people, or those resembling humans with animal traits. The animals the Keidran resemble all belong to either the feline or canine species, though there is no distinction between them to the Keidrans themselves. Therefor, a "cat" Keidran is no different then a "dog" Keidran, besides the fact that they belong to different "ethnicities" of the same race. So it's kinda like comparing a white person with an asian person: they are the same species, with different racial charactoristics. Of course, with these differences, there does tend to be some "mixed breeding", as is with two human couples of different ethnicities. But in most cases, one "animal" trait will dominate the other on a genetic level, therefor resulting in a child that resembles either one parent or the other. In other cases, some Keidran parents prefer to ensure that the children are "pure bred", or that they stay with people of the same type or "racial ethnicity." This splitting of races resulted in the Keidran clans, where Keidran of the same type would travel and settle with the others of the same type. This has yet to be seen in the comic, because Flora grew up as a slave, where humans purchase Keidran based on the appeal of their coats, rather then the type of Keidran it is. So Flora spends time with a member of one of the Wolven Clans in her flashback. Flora is, in fact, a "pure bred," in her case, having both a Keidran father and mother of tiger patterns. Speaking of the transformation Flora underwent early on in the comic, that was my pathetic attempt at physically representing an "attitude" Keidrans adapt when they are defending or fighting someone. When Keidran get very angry, they become more ferral, acting more like their ansestorial animals. During this time they find it hard to speak or think, only relying on instinct. It was simply a bad attempt at this at the time, but it's sure to happen again in an even greater degree. I was just trying to get across that during this "ferral" stage, Keidran seem more animal-like and less like a human, although it's more of a mental change then a physical one. I hope this information is helpful to you. I may have just made it more confusing, I'm not sure. ;D

It's called the "New Twokinds" because this isn't the first book, but mainly because the website layout changed; something like the "new you."

Does this mean Chapther 4 or book 4? The "Previous Comic" and "Archive" butons take you back through the story to the previous ones. There is an archive button right? I cant see the main page most of the time because of my anti-virus support.

Chapter 4; there is not enough story to be book 4...unless Tom writes very VERY short books.

Err... okay, I guess I did cause more questions then answers. ^^ Well, you see, the comic is actually "Book two" of the Twokinds series (of three books, total) Originally, twokinds was going to start at book one, but when I finished the scripts, I decided to go ahead and start at book two instead. So really, the stuff on the main page is actually book two, but I haven't really done anything for book one yet. (I'm sort of pulling a StarWars)
So I hope that helps. It's just bad planning on my part ^^;

teh ub3r coolness (Translation: That's really cool.)
SO it would be setup like this:
Book 1: Flora Origins, and the flsh back we just saw.
Book 2: The Twokinds Online Manga which we have all been enjoying thus far.
Book 3: Which is the prologue in the story section. (Twokinds Book Three: The End of Flora)
