I think this is pretty important, so listen up: I've recently created a brand-new phpbb2.0 message board. It's got lots of nifty features that proboards does not offer, not to mention no advertisements, but the big question comes down to wether or not you guys want the move. One of the biggest negatives I can see is that with the new boards, you will all have to start over with your post counts. I'm currently trying to find a way around this, possible giving you all some kind of symbol to show that you've been here a while. But I know a lot of you have worked hard to gain the post counts you have now, so I will leave it entirely up to you. Here is what the board will look like, basically: tomartstudios.com/forum/

No. As it should be apparent by even the most casual of observers, I am quite obviously not a pervert in any way, shape, or manner. As it happens, I am so disassociated with the term "pervert" that some who know me would refer to me as the anti-pervert. I despise to the utmost any form of perverted act or deed whatsoever. Lecherous men of all degrees should be jailed on site, and women dressed or acting in any manner that could even hint at being any less then sickeningly conservative should be rushed to the nearest place of worship and cleansed of their sins immediately. In short, the views and opinions displicited in the twokinds comic do not, to any extent of the imagination, express the views and opinions of its creator.
Now that everything has been put in order, these fractious rumors should be squelched. I prognosticate that I will not have to be troubled again by the frankly far-fetched idea that I am a pervert, an idea obviously hatched by one who simply cannot comprehend the complex enigma that is my inner imagination.
Please note: Satire

Yes, I do plan on remaking the first couple pages of the comic, as well as add more pages to the prologue to better explain things. In fact, I've already started to do just that. But unfortunately, I do not plan on posting them on Keenspace.. at least, not for right now anyway. They will be published in another form of media.

You know what.... I have no idea. Okay, I have a vague idea, but since it was never really important to the story, I never got around to actually finalizing it. Basitins really are very modest people, with the women almost literally "owned" by the males in a very primitive system of society. The males do the hard work, and all of them are tought to be warriors. Females tend to the children and teach. I think this is important to note because it gives you an idea of how their world works. They do not do anything at all sexual in public (unlike Keidran, who are known to... procreate quite openly) In the private of their own homes, they will go through very polite rituals when it comes to sex. So from that, I believe Basitins do a kind of "nuzzling" on each other's necks, or something along these lines, as a show of affection. Hope that helps. ;D

A Keidran-style kiss is preformed by biting the neck of the other individual. (Not very hard, mind you, but enough to feel it pretty well ;D ) Though licking can be considered a "kiss," it is generally thought to be less intimate then a human kiss would be considered. Think of licking as being inbetween a hug and kiss.

Okay, here we go. This is a long story, which is why I didn't answer sooner, but I'll try to fast forward thru time as fast as I can. So.... in the beginning, the old gods created the universe. Even as they did, they began to die. As the last and most powerful one vanished, he created the three masks, to rule over one particularly lively planet. These masks were: Good, Evil, and Neutral. As the masks watched over the world, they soon became bored. So they each created a race to live on the world. Each race today disputes which mask created which, but this is their general beliefs: Keidran believe that they were created by good, while humans by evil, and basitins by neutral. Humans believe that they were created by good, while Keidran by evil, and basitins, of course, by neutral. Basitins, on the other hand, believe that both Humans and Keidran where created by evil, while they were created by neutral (as always) and good had enough sense to stay out of it. In any case, for many hundreds of years the races lived in peace. That is, until the day came when one of the masks noticed that it's race was mixing and breeding with those of the other (humans with Keidran) For some reason, this angered it, and he quickly made it so that no human could bear the child of a Keidran, and vise versa. The tension between the two races began to increase, and sensing this, the third mask took the third race (basitins) and moved them all on to large islands off the main lands (now the Basidian Isles). Eventually, the first Keidran/Human war began. Many where killed, and this ammused the two masks greatly. But eventually things began to settle down. Seeing that there was no benifit for either side to fight, they developed a peace treaty, and the Keidran Boundaries were formed. The humans had won the most land in the end, but Keidran thrived in the woods they had been driven into. As time went on, the masks fell into legend, and both humans and Keidran began to forget the treaty. after 600 years, the Templar were created, to "protect humanity". Almost the same time, the Keidran version of the Templar, "The BloodOrder," was also formed. Today, war begins to brew again. Although not officially in a war, it's on the edge of one, with Flora and Trace at the ends of the balance beam. Er... I kinda got away from gods for a while there and went into just history ;D sorry bout that. I guess that's all there is to know, though. Later, hundreds of years after Twokinds, Flora becomes a goddess to, ironically enough, humans. But that's another story.....

heh ;D well, at one point after I created the character page I decided to change a few of the ages to better suit the purpose of the story. Flora is now 11, and Karen is now 14. I am currently in the process of making a new characters page. It should be done within the next week or so.

For the humans, people are ruled over by a King, and follows in that type of heirarchy. But the king is more of a political figure, a puppet for the Templar. They, in fact, hold all the power, but the people remain resonablely unaware of this fact. The only thing the people know is that if you tick off a Templar, you end up dead, and the government doesn't do anything about it.
As for the other races, that is still to come in the story. Hope this helps. ^^

Flora's stripe pattern isn't really standardized, except in key locations. On her hands, the stripes are circular, her ears are black (or black tipped), there are two stripes on either side of her cheek, there are no stripes from her chest to her inner thighs, and no stripes on the bottom of her feet. Her tail is tipped black as well, and her sholders have circular stripes on them. The stripes in between these areas are simply drawn the way I think they should look, but not the same way each time.
Hope this helps. ^^

Heh, yes, unfortunately with the timezone differences, there is no way for any webcomic artist to totally compensate for all the timezones without having seperate servers in every timezone of the world. Thus, I must discriminate. ;D The comic comes out somewhere around 12:00 midnight Eastern Central Time. (That is, Ohio, Kentucky, etc) So as you move farther east or west, time will hourly increase or decrease respectively.

Heh, well, I don't think I can really answer this particular question, sorry. I don't want to give anything away! ;D But please don't worry, the book version of Twokinds runs on a completely different storyline. The comic is actually based off the books, but as with every story based off the same story in a different format, things end up changing. The comic's script turned out changing a whole lot from the original book, so you can almost be sure that the story being posted in the forums is different from that of the comic.

Although the word that his name is based off of is really pronounced U-ker, I normally pronounce it U-kree, myself. But it's really up to the reader.

The Keidran language originated very early in history, when the primative Keidran would scratch marks into trees with thier claws. After thousands of years, this language had evolved to become what is now their written language today. It consists of a series of straight or curved lines, with no variation between capital and lowercase letters, and dashed lines as puncuation.
Hope that helps. ;D

Can't really give away much at this point, since most of the backstory is important to the plot. But I can say that Flora once had a very big crush on Euchre, right before they went their seperate ways after The Escape. And yes, Euchre is much older then Flora.
