Yup. Yesterday I got pwnt on port 1028. ;_;
No files deleted Admin Access stripped until reboot Unable to Open Winamp3/Command Prompt
I rebooted my machine. Everything was fine, but I had an epiphany (sp?). I'm going to protect this rig like it was my body.
Now, how the f*** do I close those ports, 1024 - 1030, in Zone Alarm? They don't seem to do anything and they are DCOM; Something hackers LOVE.

This site grc.com/ can test you computer just to see how much can be found out about your computer. You want to use the Shields Up!! part of it. grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2I think the link will take you stirght to the web page to test your computer. The site will also tell you ways to close ports on your system.

Help I think I'm being hacked! I dnt know for certain though. I still haven't checked out the sites that you posted above yet.
For some reason my comuter will just shut off and begin a restart. but on none of those occasions have I hit the reset button or even Ctrl+Alt+Delete'd. It just shuts off.
This is really annoying when I'm trying to get something done. (Like finding the source material for my Fanfiction. So I can resume writing it.)
Anther thing: How do you know that while checking your computer that those sites dont give away that information to some hacker somewhere? Just a thought.

I use a dell I got for $20 as my firewall.
Make sure you're up to date on windows update.
If you want to block all access to specific ports then you could use the firewall built into windows 2k and XP (not the crap thing you can turn on in XP's network settings). I'm not sure how good it is since no one ever mentions it however it lets you block ports/ips/etc. Google for how to set it up since it's very nicely hidden by microsoft.
