Make it look like COOL line art? >_< Ah man i really wanted to color this but i cant do the character justice with my crummy pencil -- and i only have sharpe markers... (and a pen for the check book but that blue >_< ) Ive seen people re do line art with a tablet and i was wondering if someone could do that for this "fan art" since im such a poor artist. (Poor as in not having much money or poor as in not being very good -- pick one doesnt matter ^_^) Well let me know -- if not im taking a sharpe marker to this thing! (and thats going to kill the look i wanted...) (oh and there are suposed to be stripes on the tail -- but well i realized after i scanned it that i hadnt darkened them from doing the light sketch... and brightness took them away lol)

Well it's not so bad, you could probably tweak it in photoshop, I "could" redo the lineart but I have a few things I have to finish first.

Why? Why? Why? Why does everyone put down their own art. That looks great (about what I do on a good day). Heck, you did a much better job on the face than i could ever have hoped to (I suck at faces)...
So anyway...nice art, keep up the great work

Aside from a few lines being really dim (which might be... your scanner?) it's really good. I especially like the eyes and shirt. Two things I have loads of trouble drawing. Well... I have alot of trouble drawing everything but those are more difficult than most for me. (Goes with anatomy, shading, folds in clothes, etc.)
In response to Shard-Blackwings's post: I think alot of people put down their own art because they think it sucks even though everyone else might like it. That's why I always say I'm not the best but I like what I draw.

Its light because well -- its pencil and pencil doesnt always work well with any scanner ^^ but this topic is EXTREAMLY old... even the colored version is old (see Tom's Fan Art page on the Twokinds Site) - But well <_< i still hate this picture...

sure go ahead - just dont claim its yours heh, no worries. i doubt anyone would believe me, too here's what i've done with it so far: just finished vectoring* the whole thing and gave it some very basic coloring (i'll work on it later). i fixed up some details here and there, as well as remaking the tail (the one in your sketch was pretty crummy). all done with Macromedia Flash (easiest program for me to use) btw. *vectoring: converting regular art into vector art. basically, i import the picture into flash and draw over the whole thing just using the Line tool to make lines and curves, thus turning a regular drawing into a vector drawing, which is much easier for me to mess around with. it looks nicer too.

that coloring is nothing special - coloring Flora is really easy actually - you fill her with the orange color (the orange i used for that pic was more yellow - was trying to get it to look a diffent style) - after filling with orange you can either add White using an airbrush (feather brush) or use a feathered Eraser on the layer with the orange - go over all the areas that should be white then add shadows and highlights where need... but whenever you do that the first thing you must remember - choose where the light is coming from and what kind! -_- i dont do that enough...
