I've decided to do a quick thread on punctuation. The spelling and grammar situation is now undercontrol, and I thought this might be a good way to finish up.
. - The period. Normally found at the end of a sentence, using several in a row can give the feeling of a pause in conversation.
, The comma. I really don't care if people use these or not. It does add a finising touch to things.
Last but not least, the capital at the start of a sentence.
This is a random piece of text I've chosen to illustrate the spelling changes.
Example:
Before
After
One or two spelling mistakes in a post is ok. The same cannot be said for repeated lack of punctuation.

I have an odd feeling my disjointed and illogical posts have a small amount to do with this.
Its rather difficult to take thoughts and then re-arrange them into things understandable by others. THis constant revision and re-emphasizing is important in translating from the mind of one to that of another.
I think of these things and yet it seems to encourage me to ramble more.
*Sigh*
Well anyways... heres a period. Ha.

*claps* Very good Defender, it's nessicary for punctuation and good spelling *to the best of your ablilites, at least* to make things readable. I know there are exceptions, and I know that I have problems too, but I like this a lot. Even though I thought I was getting away from school. ;D

Uhm, i don't wanna pick up a fight with one of the moderators but. I understand that if a thing is un-readable - or just so wrong you cannot understand what the person mean - then I understand that its time to explain. But the example you gave, I think most people with a brain understood what he meant, or am I wrong? And spelling words maybe ain't that easy for all persons (don't know how many live in eng/states or so a county where you doesn't read english in school until 7-9 grade, like germany i think), or maybe they doesn't even try. Myself I use a "not-so-tightend" spelling, results in that I miss pretty many periods, but I still don't think it makes such a matter all the time. Go easy on those who spells bad (not TO bad cause then you have a really good point), its their own fault if they get missunderstood (ah there is some exeptions if they really doesn't know how to spell a word or alike). Then again, your a moderator aint you? So your rules of cause, just wanted to defend someone that I like ^^.
Note: I really did use proper english this time though... I think <--- no period Muhahaha Sorry, don't hit me 0_0' .

Punctuation is important. FACT: Punctuation is the difference between; 1) I helped my friend, Jack, off a horse. and... 2) I helped my friend jack off a horse. See the difference?

hehe, I try to spell and stuff best I can. I am in a college ENG 111 class, and they don't even teach you grammer or how to spell! They expect you to know everythign about it, and I myself suck at it. I like to use ... and other things alot, is that a big problem? I really do try not to piss of admins ; ; I have had many examples of " Newbie board user detected, automated ban missle engages, targeting... ooo.. a quarter!"
